If you spend your holiday at the Pension Pernthaler, the village centre of Silandro is not far away. The pedestrian area, with its shops and cafés, invites you to take a leisurely stroll: the small streets and hidden corners have their own special charm. The Gothic parish church, the Assumption of the Assumption, has the highest church tower in the whole of the Tyrol and is worth seeing for this unusual feature alone, as is the Silandroburg with its two-storey arcaded courtyard from the Renaissance era. In the National Park House avimundus you can admire the bird life around the Stelvio Pass.

From Silandro you can easily explore the rest of Venosta Valley. There are new possibilities every day: whether visiting sights such as the Churburg in Schluderns or the Marienberg monastery in Burgeis, exploring the picturesque villages of the valley or discovering the flora and fauna.
A trip to Merano is worthwhile; the spa town is only about 40 minutes away by car. On Tuesdays and Fridays you can visit this South Tyrolean jewel as, on these days, the weekly market invites you to take a stroll and shop. Explore the old town with its arcades or the botanical gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle.
